I seek out opportunities where I can really make an impact. I am an entrepreneur and like to be in an environment where there is a team mentality and we are ready to break rules, take risks and make forward leaps. Having been a designer for so many years, I value collaboration. I know I have found better solutions to problems because of the input I recieved in collaborative environments.
As a designer for almost 20 years, with a background in fashion and architecture, my approach to design has always been user centered. My focus for the last 8 years has been working on products that support small businesses.

WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT

DESCRIPTION
Tracking the telemetry of a vehicle in a fleet only solves part of the problem of running a service enterprise. To provide the best support for our customers, it became clear that drivers needed to have a system in place that would allow them to receive real-time changes to their tasks as well as an easier way to communicate their progress or delays to their managers.
CHALLENGE
As a company serving the needs of customers managing fleets, the industries they belong to are very diverse and can have very unique needs for them to achieve their objectives. At this point there already were some bespoke applications in place for some of the Company's largest accounts. This was not scalable and we were assigned the task to come up with a universal workflow management module that would tie in with all of our existing tracking capabilities.

The "PRD" we started with...
APPROACH
In this case we started by identifying all the industries we serve to find the commonalities between their workflows. We also looked at some industries we didn't serve, anticipating that providing this type of product would open up other verticals for us.

Once we had the verticals we started to identify the roles & personas that would need to be considered for this product.

Examples of roles which were further broken down to persona
At this point we started to identify what the data inputs would need to be and how the information architecture of our existing platform would need to be modified.

A picture of what the full ecosystem would look like started to emerge, which also helped identify where the gaps in the ui would be.

ACTION
Once the gaps in UI were identified, work could begin on wire-framing and designing for these different areas of the module.
