Fashion For Globe is a two sided market place for brands to discover freelance fashion designers that have work ready to sell.

The website's messaging was focused on the supply side of the marketplace. This was acceptable for the first 3 months after launch since we were rapidly growing the user base. Once a sales team was brought on to grow the demand side, the website had to change to a more buyer friendly site.

APPROACH

I gathered information from the sales team and talent acquisition team to determine what were the perceptions their users had.

 

This included the following: 

  

  • Notes from verbal feedback during sales meetings

  • My own observations when attending sales meetings

  • Email exchanges from designers 

  • Interviews with designers

 

 

• Brands saw this as another portfolio website for student designers - not a professional marketplace for qquality design work.

 

• Designers didn't trust that the company was actively seeking paying customers and were reluctant to  tttpost their best work.

 

• Our internal sales team didn't feel confident to refer fashion brand executives to the site because it tttdidn't have the polish of a global fashion brand itself.
